About My Journey

Nightterrors, psychosomatic symptoms & chronic UTIs afflicted my early childhood. The war within my body raged on. When I was 14 years old my battle with anorexia began.Slowly & undetected at first, until blatantly obvious. In the mid-90s therapy wasn’t as mainstream acceptable as today, and in the Midwest it was even less popular. I began to see a therapist. As I struggled through recovery, one day, after a particularly difficult week, the therapist I was seeing told me I was going to die.

I was 15 years old, obviously struggling, needing support, guidance & compassion. I stood up, said a few choice words & walked out of her office. At that moment I decided I would become a therapist. I never wanted anyone to feel the way I did that day.

After years of schooling, internship, & supervised work experience I finally made it. I began my private practice. My dream actualized. And yet I was not happy. I didn’t feel fulfilled. I loved the work I did with my clients, Supporting them through their journeys, Witnessing their successes. Seeing the limitations in their healing. Something wasn’t aligned. From the time I was 15 years old my sights set on my goal to be a compassionate therapist, determined to “succeed,” and forgetting to re-assess along the way. The signs were there, I avoided them. The detours presented themselves, yet I continued on my path.

I began to expand my skill set into alternative healing. First Yoga Teacher Training. Then Nidra Facilitator Certification. Then Somatic Experiencing + Nervous System Dynamics. Then Reiki & Yin training. With each new skill I saw more and more depth to healing in myself…and my clients. I dove deep into the psycho-emotional-spiritual healing realm. Something not supported by my state’s licensure, yet fully supported by my clients nervous systems. So I made the decision to step back from my licensure in 2020.

I began offering my 3-month Chakra Coaching program to clients. The results AMAZING. In 3 months clients would make more progress than I’d seen in years working in my private practice. Understanding that trauma is a Spiritual wound shifted everything and I have no intention of ever turning back. The secret sauce was a wholistic approach, Body • Mind • Soul. From this Body Wisdom Coaching was birthed. My philosophy is a humanistic & wholistic approach to coaching women. I use the full spectrum of my skills including, my 15+ years of training & experience as a clinical psychotherapist, along with my training in alternative therapies, body-based somatic healing, Ayurvedic traditions, Movement therapy practices, Guided Nidra Meditations & Intuitive Healing, to support healing in your individualized healing journey. Each coaching container is personalized and divinely inspired to address your unique needs, body, mind + soul. Each session individualized to meet you where you are, honoring that space, your emotions, experiences, fears & gently inviting you deeper along your journey of healing. Building awareness of your internal experience allows you to have compassion for yourself, creating space to learn the language of your body. When you can communicate with your body, both receiving from & giving to her, you can begin to rebuild your relationship with her…this is healing.
